Led by jazz superstar cellist and composer, Tomeka Reid, the Tomeka Reid Stringtet is a 17-member improvising chamber orchestra featuring prolific string players and percussionists from across the country. The ensemble unites for the Chicago premiere of a co-commissioned new work, bringing a collective fluency in all styles of contemporary creative music and previous collaborations ranging from William Parker and Henry Threadgill to Pauline Oliveros and Tristan Murail to Bruce Springstein and Stevie Wonder.

This work was co-commissioned by the Roth Visiting Scholar Program and The Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College, UChicago Presents and the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, and made possible with the support of the Revada Foundation, and Walker Art Center. Supported by the Logan Center Jazz Forever Fund, a gift of the Revada Foundation. Presented in partnership with Chicago Jazz Magazine, DownBeat, Jazz Institute of Chicago, and WDCB 90.9 FM.
