Mandel Hall Art Song Recital to Spotlight French and German Songs Performed by Acclaimed Duo

On Friday, February 17th at 7:30 p.m., the University of Chicago Presents will host two internationally accomplished artists at Mandel Hall: Sandrine Piau, soprano and Susan Manoff, piano. The two will make their Chicago recital debut with a program of French and German songs, entitled Après un Rêve.

French soprano Sandrine Piau, best known for her work in Baroque opera, is an enchanting recitalist. She has performed at Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Covent Garden Festival, and with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestra de Paris. Piau received the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and was named Lyrical Artist of the Year in the 2009 Victoires de la Musique Classique award ceremony.
