JESSICA WARREN-ACOSTA
Hailed as “one to watch” by Muso Magazine, Jessica Warren-Acosta has gained worldwide recognition as a dynamic performer and a flutist. This season includes appearances as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, as well as recitals with the Avalon String Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, and pianist Kuang-Hao Huang.
Warren-Acosta has performed on three continents and has appeared as a soloist with the Baltimore, Fort Worth, and Omaha Symphonies, among others, as well as at numerous international music festivals, including the Spoleto USA Festival, where she gave the American premiere of Pascal Dusapin’s Galim. In addition to touring Latin America as an artistic ambassador to the U.S., she has been named a winner in several international competitions including the Artists International Competition and the International Music Competition “Citta di Padova.”
Beyond her classical training, Warren-Acosta has a great interest in the music of South America and has made extensive trips to Perú and Ecuador to familiarize herself with Andean instruments and performance techniques. Her CD of South American music for flute, Acentos, has been released on the Filarmonika label.
