Ahnansé (aka Wayne Francis) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and curator who has been a leading force in London jazz for the last 20 years. Raised in both the Carribean and London, Wayne has channelled his diverse musical influence into United Vibrations and Myriad Forest – pioneering bands that have formed the backbone to the UK capital’s jazz scene. Alongside headlining key UK and European festivals, Ahnansé’s shared his accomplished ability on the saxophone by being and ambassador for the Roundhouse’s “On Mass” project, seeing him travel the world teaching and inspiring young children. Perhaps best known as the founder of Steam Down – a musical collective and one of London’s most exciting and prolific jazz nights that has seen the likes of Kamasi Washington and Shabaka Hutchings in attendance) – now signed to Decca/Universal and bringing their musical message to the world.
