Concert Assistant
*This job is available to work study students.
Reporting
The Concert Assistant reports to the Director of Production of
The University of Chicago Presents. The University of Chicago
Presents maintains a full time staff of three and a part time
staff of five.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Marketing
and Public Relations
- Design and place all print advertisements.
- Layout and coordinate printing of all concert programs.
Office Management
- Manage day to day finances, pay all bills, including preparing
University-generated payment forms for Director's signature
and working with Comptroller's Office.
- Answer phones, take messages, handle routine questions and
requests.
- Proofread all concert programs and printed materials.
Subscriber/Donor Relations
- Act as liaison to series subscribers and single ticket buyers,
answering phones, assisting with seating, tickets and other
requests.
- Assign subscriber and single-ticket buyer seats for concert
series.
- Process, record and deposit all charitable contributions and
revenue from ticket sales.
Concert Production
- Attend all concerts and special events.
- Assist with the management of part-time student staff at all
concerts

The Administrative Assistant should be:
- Extremely Organized
- Motivated, resourceful, self-starting and entrepreneurial
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- Positive, enthusiastic and energetic
- Proficient with computers
- Knowledgeable about music
Ideal Computer Skills
Microsoft Word, Filemaker, Pagemaker and Internet
Compensation
Part time, 12 hours per week, additional compensations
for performances. Compensation commensurate with experience. No
