The young violinist and Avery Fisher Career Grant awardee Stefan Jackiw (“uncommon musical substance,” Boston Globe) will make his Chicago recital debut along with pianist Anna Polonsky (“a chamber musician of exceptional refinement,” the New York Times). The program features works by Ravel, Lutoslawski, Saariaho, and Franck. The duo replaces the previously scheduled Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov on UChicago Presents’ Classic Concert Series. Faust has taken ill and has been strongly advised by her doctors in Germany not to travel; she is canceling all engagements for two weeks.

Note: There will not be a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 PM.
