Music by Schumann, Brahms, and Silvestrov

Renaissance woman Hélène Grimaud is not just a deeply passionate and committed musical artist whose pianistic accomplishments play a central role in her life. An activist and writer as well as a musician, she is a woman with multiple talents that extend far beyond the instrument she plays with such poetic expression and peerless technical control. Grimaud demonstrates that expression and virtuosity in Mandel Hall with a program featuring Schumann’s Kreisleriana, his “favorite work,” inspired by the eponymous character from E.T.A. Hoffman.
