Rockefeller Chapel Accessibility

Access to Rockefeller Chapel

An accessible entrance to Rockefeller Chapel is available on the west side of the building, next to the Lexington Lot on University Avenue and 59th Street. The circle drive on the east side of the building is also available for vehicle drop-offs, though extended parking is prohibited.

The Lexington Parking Lot at 5835 S. University Avenue, immediately to the west of the chapel, has reserved handicapped spaces and a ramp to the designated entrance. It is generally restricted to pre-issued permit parking during the day, but open to the public on evenings and weekends when the gate will open automatically.

Street parking around Rockefeller Chapel is also free and plentiful on evenings and weekends.

Inside Rockefeller Chapel

The main floor and lower level restrooms of Rockefeller Memorial Chapel are accessible; a wheelchair lift to the lower level is located in the main entrance lobby near the southwest door. Wheelchair accessible seating is also available inside the Chapel with accompanying companion seats. Assisted listening devices for Mandel Hall are available on request, and large-print programs may be requested at the UChicago Presents marketing table.
