Five-time JUNO Award Winner Jane Bunnett, known for her explorations of Afro-Cuban melodies, takes the stage with Maqueque, the GRAMMY-nominated group comprised of five brilliant female Cuban musicians. What started as a mentoring and recording project to expand the reach of Cuban music and provide opportunities to young Cuban women in jazz is now one of the top jazz groups in North America.
Before the concert, stop by the Café Logan at 6 PM to hear free pre-concert jazz from the Swan Brothers Collective, presented by the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and the Jazz Institute of Chicago.
