Livestream Guide

Welcome! We are so excited to bring you special performances and Q&A sessions from amazing artists all over the world. With live-streamed events, you can experience performances and interact with world-class artists right in your home. To make accessing these live-streams as easy as possible, we’ve put together a few simple guidelines and steps to make sure you don’t miss out!

To begin, we will always include links in our emails that will bring you directly to the streaming website. Events may be live-streamed on various websites, including Youtube, Facebook, Vimeo, etc. and will not require you to register or log in. Each event will have a “doors open” time (15-30 minutes before the start time), which is a great time to access the webpage and test your device. For a look at the step-by-step process, let’s use Third Coast Percussion’s live-streamed concert from March 28 as an example.

Accessing the live-stream

Step 1:

Click on the link to the live-stream provided in the most recent UCP email communication.

Step 2:

Once you click the link, your device will direct you to the exact page where the concert will be broadcast. If we're live, the video should start playing immediately. If it doesn't, look for an arrow icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Click it and the video will start.

Step 3:

Make sure your volume is on and turned up. Do that by clicking the speaker icon and adjusting the volume on the bar that appears.

Step 4:

To enlarge the video so that it fills the screen of your device, click the square icon on the lower right corner of the screen.

Devices

Here are suggested devices from which you can access the live-stream, along with a few tips for each:

Desktop or laptop computer (PC or Mac)

As a first step, make sure that the volume is turned up on your computer. If your computer sound quality is not great, see if you can find headphones to use instead, but make sure the volume on your computer is set at a level that won't be too loud with headphones.

iPad or other tablet with internet connection

If you use an iPad, check to make sure the volume is turned up and that you can find the email or a web page that has the live-stream link on it. If you're watching alone, headphones may improve your listening experience.

iPhone or other smartphone

The same as using an iPad or other tablet, practice locating the link in your email before the live-stream and test it at the "doors open" time. You may enjoy the event more with headphones from this device.
