Precious Jewel Taylor is an accomplished singer/actress/dancer born in Chicago who began performing at the tender age of eight with her brothers band “TNT. By the age of eleven she was doing shows and studio recordings. She performed in several local plays such as “The Wiz”, “A Taste of Honey” and “West Side Story”. After deciding that music was her first love she majored in Opera, developing her Five- octave range, Minored in Theatre, Studying Jazz, Ballet and Modern Dance at The Chicago Conservatory of Music.

Precious has performed throughout the world touring Europe and Asia several times. She has appeared in several theatrical shows including “Forgotten Pearls” (The Oasis Theatre), “The Dinah Washington Story” (Drury Lane Theatre) and Tommie Guns Garage Dinner Theatre.

She also landed the principal actress role of Sister Callie in “The Blues Brothers Revival” at (The Center for the Performing Arts/Chicago Theatre, produced by Dan Akroyd and Judy Belushi. She has appeared onstage with Lionel Ritchie, Carl Carlton (Bad Mamma Jamma), Norman Connors, Michael Henderson, Paul Shaffer, Dave Coz, Phil Perry, George Duke, Jr. Walker & the All Stars, Howard Hewitt, Dennis Brown’s Reggae Sun-splash, Slave, The Gap Band, The Contours, , The Emotions, Linda Clifford, Michael Henderson, The Winans, Guitar Murphy, Buddy Miles, Buddy Guy, Von Freeman, The Dells, The Chi-lites, R Kelly, Gerald LeVert. Dennis Edwards, Johnny Taylor, The Temptations, and her aunt, The Legendary KoKo Taylor.

Precious also performed in a private audience of gospel for Pope John Paul III at Vatican City, Rome. She has done commercials for BET/Comic View, Medcare HMO and several infomercials and voice overs. Precious Jewel has been the featured vocalist with some of the top Orchestras in Chicago including The Steve Edwards Orchestra, The Gentlemen of Leisure, High Society, The Night Shift Orchestra, Ken Arlen Orchestra, Detour, Transit, Mike Walters, Diamond Orchestra, Strictly Business and The Associates. She also performed as a guest vocalist and dancer on the Odyssey and the Spirit of Chicago Cruise ships.

Other stages she has graced include The Chicago Jazz Festival, The Taste of Chicago, Kingston Mines, The Chicago Blues Festival, The Wild Hare, The Green Mill, The Cotton Club, Radio City Music Hall, The Chicago Theatre, The House of Blues, The Park West and many U.S.O. tours for our troops around the world. She presently heads up her own band called “Charisma”, one of the most requested groups in the industry. She is hopeful that her new book about her life and world travels titled “Destination Precious Jewel” will soon be made into a stage play.
