Takahiro Uehara is an educator of Tamagusuku-ryu School Kina-no-kai Association. He trained under Masae Iha and graduate from Department of Music, Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, majoring in Ryukyuan Performing Arts. He completed National Theatre Okinawa’s third term Kumiodori training program and is a member of Ryukyu Traditional Kumiodori Preservation Association. Recent credits include the special “Ryukyu Buyo and Kumiodori” presentation commemorating the 30th anniversary of Emperor Akihito’s reign, the 300th anniversary of Kumiodori and the 15th anniversary of National Theatre Okinawa in 2019, presentation of new Kumiodori work “Hana no Maboroshi” and “Hana yo Tokoshie ni” in 2019, introductory performance of “Discover Kumiodori-Shushin Kaneiri” in 2019, and most recently, and presentation of song and dance featuring the works of Chokun Tamagusuku, the founder of Ryukyuan Kumiodori, in 2021.
