Barbara Walker began singing professionally when she was 16 with her organist father Bill Walker as a 16 year old vocalist in West Philadelphia. Her career has been rich and varied, marked by performances with with tenor saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr., Patty LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Herbie Hancock, Diane Schuur, Diana Krall, Les McCann, Branford Marsalis, Al Jarreau, Chick Corea, Toots Thielemans,Oscar Brown, Jr., Bobby Durham, Nancy Wilson, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Manhattan Transfer, LL Cool J and Maynard Ferguson. She appeared in the American Music Theatre Festival production “Essentially Ellington”and sang “Here Comes the Morning” in the movie, ”The Score”.
